GEORGIA

The off -Broadway one-woman play

"Love Can be a Breeding Ground for Monsters"

Sunday Dec. 2nd, Thursday Dec. 6th, Sunday Dec. 9th, Thurs. Dec 13th

Georgia maneuvers through love after rape. After a young couple survives this quiet violence, Georgia shows how a single thrust unlocks different answers to the same question.  A one-woman, four-character play, Georgia forces an analysis of opposing viewpoints through the vulnerability of the main character; the generational consciousness of her best friend; the matured perspective of an immigrant parent and finally, from the gendered posturing of a young man. Georgia investigates the windows of good, evil and the sometimes blurry lines in between.

Georgia is made possible in part with public funds from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership withthe City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Performances and talk back sessions will be presented Sundays and Thursdays, December 2nd, 6th, 9th, and 13th.

Co-directed by Andy Jean-Gilles and Precious Sipin

General admission: $20 in advance, $25 at the door
